Breaking News !

A new blog post comes out every two weeks !

➡️ Quick, a little holiday reading!

Ah Norway ! 😀 😀

Ah, Norway ! Finally on my way !

That gorgeous country where fjords are more numerous than days without rain. My trip is fast approaching and I’m getting ready for an unforgettable adventure… served with a generous side of self-deprecation, of course!

✈️ Flight Tickets: Playing Poker with Trolls

On August 15th, direction Oslo! Why Oslo? Well, you have to start somewhere in this vast North.

I booked my flight tickets back in February, and honestly, I had a stroke of genius: since then, fuel prices have skyrocketed like a pancake on Candlemas. Who knew that making travel financial decisions was as risky as playing poker with Norwegian trolls?

🚢 Trains, Fjords & Maritime Glamour

My itinerary promises to be quite epic:

  • Train to Bergen: Tickets stamped (or almost)!

  • 5-day fjord cruise: My very first one! I just hope I don’t end up like the Titanic — minus the ice, plus the spectacular view.

  • Stopover in Tromsø: A quick detour up North before heading back to Oslo and flying home to Paris.

A week that’s going to fly by faster than a salmon swimming upstream!

(And obviously, I’ll be sharing all my maritime adventures on Instagram. Because let’s be honest: if it’s not on social media, did it even happen?)

🏨 The Accommodation Head-Scratch

Finding a hotel for this trip proved to be more complicated than correctly pronouncing “Svalbard”.

And don’t even get me started on Airbnbs… Who actually wants to vacuum while on vacation? Not me. I’m staying Team Hotel, even if it means sacrificing a bit of my breakfast budget. After all, what’s the point of paying for an all-you-can-eat buffet if you have to dash before dawn to catch a train?

💶 The Ultimate Challenge: €2500 to Live Like a Queen

On the financial side, the challenge is on: €2,500 per person for a week in Norway. Will I manage to stick to my budget while feeling like the Ice Queen?

I’ll tell you all about it when I get back — questionable anecdotes and accountant math included! In the meantime, I’m packing my bags, humor in hand and passport at the ready.

See you soon for new Nordic adventures!
